Kudos and Recognition
There are literally hundreds of major contributors of work, materials and equipment dating back over 25 years. If anyone would like to chronicle some of the major developments, send the text (and pictures if availabel) to Arthur at FOA Web Editor.
Thank You All! - By The Peanut Gallery, 03-07-2005
First, extraordinary thanks to Dan and Sherry who donated the beautiful sink counters and cabinets, the loan of a powerful water pump and the generator to run it, the yet-to-be-installed Jacuzzi tub and innumerable other assists, and Dan (Dano) for building this beautiful web site! [Dano chose not to give Sherry and himself kudos when he started this page, so we will. --F.O.A.]
To Dawn and Patricia for the 1600 gallon water tank needed for storing an adequate reserve of water up the hill--only the latest of an incredible legacy of support and contribution of computer equipment, time and U.S. government issue "frogs' hides." [See the "Donating to Annwfn" page for more on money donations.]
To Morgan and Ian Lurking Bear for an immense amount of moral support, and numerous, generous donations of time, equipment and "frogs' hides." An extraordinary donation by Morgan made our legal fight for water and access rights possible!
Many Thanks to Kindoor who once again assisted Jack this Winter in clearing Old Fluffy of a fallen oak tree. In recognition of his consistent efforts over the years to helping to maintain Annwfn, Kindoor and Macha are officially recognized as Caretakers Emeritus. Hip hip, Hazzah!
To our remarkable Daoine, who contributed a magnificent Temple door with stained glass [The one you can click on the Home Page to go to Sign In], as well as four exquisite Quarter-theme stained glass windows. This is only a small part of her contributions of ideas, time and money over the years.
To Jeanne Koelle for her innumerable hours researching, writing and editing bylaws, keeping the books, creating graphics, membership forms and pamphlets, making free office space available to Friends of Annwfn, and . . . Wow!
To Tim Emert for his hard work and numerous monitary and in-kind contributions to the land, including providing email and cell phone access at critical times.
To Mike (Greenman) for numerous substantial donations, including 4 almost-new deep cycle batteries, blessed with the sands of Burningman 2004. He has been a tireless champion of communication about Annwfn, and original (and still) List Manager for the Friends-of-Annwfn Yahoo List.
Also in need of Thanks are Denese, Louis and Arthur for their efforts in getting a shower installed in the Goat Lodge, and to Louis who came back to help Jack install a modern flash water heater.
Many thanks to Dal, who has contributed many weekends of work and donated thousands of dollars of materials and equipment to build a clean, pleasant building to house our new state-of-the-art composting toilet he donated. The building can eventually house two stalls. Also for multiple loads of gravel to improve the (now abandoned) Greenway and other roads. And especially for renting and running the back hoe in the precarious and successful quest for safe, clean, year-round water on our own land! This is a very significant event in Annwfn's history, as the new source is above the pond, and naturally pure--no filtering or pumping required! This project was kept under wraps during the legal battle, until we were sure the water was pretty much year-round and plentiful (our water in recent years had come from the uncooperative neighbors' spring).
And of coarse to Jack Crispin Cain and Tamar Kay for devotion beyond belief. A list of their contributions would probably crash the server . . .
